I started my first day of 2012 with cleaning up the house and completing my list of new year resolution. 

I guess the first on the list would be: complete the holiday assignments of 2011

I have decided to sit down and pen down my words to the people and of all the awesome things that have been part of my amazing experience for this year. (I will try to recall as much as possible)

1. My family

This year had been rather hectic for me with all the exams and mugging i have to do. However, I’m really grateful to have the support of my family, especially my parents and sisters. My relationship with my family improved and I’m really proud of that. I have conversations that I never thought I would want to have with my parents. I cherish all possible moments that I have to share secrets and have girls’ talk with my siblings. However, one thing that I regret would be spending lesser quality time with my grandparents and not having dinner with the family as often as I want to. Thanks for being so understanding and I really hope to spend more quality time my family despite a much more busy schedule next year. I love you all!

2. ISL Team

I’m very glad that I didn’t make the decision to withdraw from the trip. Or else, I wouldn’t have the chance to share the same incredible 2 weeks experience with you guys. Despite feeling rather out of place at the beginning, I gradually feel a sense of belonging and also made really close and great friends. I cannot describe the feeling and experience I had of the trip entirely in words. I’m just really happy to be part of this awesome team. We didn’t have to put on a glamourous front because we feel all comfortable with each other with paint on faces and hair all tied up. I felt free when I spend time with you guys and I didn’t have to be worried of being judged. I just cannot wait to see you all again in school!

3. 17/11

Thanks for playing an important part of my school life. I’m happy to see that we’re bonding and loving each other more. Despite having to face all the difficult exams and expectations from Mr Yeong, we made it! I like how we’re all so different but yet we can be so united. We shall work harder next year and face all difficulties together!

4. BASKET GANG

You guys have been a great and humourous companion for the year. There will be neverending sick jokes and rubbish in our conversation. Even though they make no sense, but they did made my days in AJ better. I enjoyed all the outings we have. All the popeye chicken, subway, soccer matches, movies, flour, park, taking stupid photos and studying hard in the reading room. I hope to spend more time with each other! 

5. Other important people

Hirawr, Jennifer, Siying, Jiajing: Thanks for being my pillars of support for this year and also the many years before. I’m really fortunate to have met you all and still have you girls as my bestfriends. I’m really glad that we can still have conversations and still feel the same and hang out with each other. I just want to say, I really love you all and appreciate all the advices and comfort you girls gave me whenever I’m going through a difficult stage. And of course, meeting up and having outings. This paragraph cannot express how much I cherish the friendship and how much I want to thank you all. I cannot wait for more fun and outing next year!!! (L)

Nicholas: Tac, thanks for being my first bestfriend in AJ! I’m realy happy to find someone who share the same taste of music as me and also that we’re able to talk about anything and everything. Thank you for hearing me out when I have trouble. Even though we talk lesser ever since you… hahaha. But I hope to stay close and talk to you more next year okay! and, last long with JW :))

Nabil: I always enjoy the train rides home with you. That’s because we always talk non stop and never get sick of it. Thanks for being there whenever I’m feeling down! I always remember the fun things we do. All the waffles, mat language, listening to same song on the train, watching movie in nexus and being super open about jokes. I cannot wait to see you next year!

Justin: I’m glad that you’re the first person I’ve known in AJ! Even though we only started talking more in the later part of the year, I just want to say that you’ve been a really great friend and listener! Thanks for spending hours on the phone with me, listening to me when I had problems with PW and giving great advices. Thanks for being honest and a friend I really could trust and believe in.

Huijuan: You’ve been a great listener to me for the year. Despite the rocky emotional rides we always have, but we always end up listening and understanding each other better. You’re always there to hear my problems and I want to say, I will always be here for you okay! Thanks for the companion in the library before exams and travelling to tuition together. I really cannot wait to spend another year with you in AJ!

That’s about all I can think of now.

All I want to say, 2011 is an incredible year. Despite starting of on a bad foot, it became better as I got to know great people and had great experience. It felt like I grew as the days went by and I’m glad to have matured. I will never forget.
